One of the first things that you have to do in order to build your own outdoor pizza oven is to find a flat surface and this may require you to level off a bit of the backyard. An area such as a patio made form cement or a concrete slab would be ideal. A concrete slab does not take much apart from time. In order to make a flat surface all you really need to do is take away a layer of the soil slightly bigger than the base of the oven. It is also very important to construct a framework where the slab will be and all you require to do this is some pieces of wood that are about four inches in height. And build them into a square in the ground.

Once you have built a strong sturdy base you will require a vast amount of bricks. It is a good idea to get the hardware delivered to your house and get them to deliver it as close as possible to wear the outdoor pizza oven is actually being built. The base of the oven should be about thirty-six inches squared. Next you need to start stacking the bricks making a nice little pattern whilst ensuring that there is nothing wobbly or loose. Stack the brick up to a height that is about thirty inches and then construct the firebox. To make the firebox stand bricks on there end along the outside edge at the back of the oven whilst leaving a space of about four bricks along the wall at the back so that the smoke is able to get out of the firebox.

Once you have finished stacking all the bricks you will need to cut a sheet of metal to the correct size so that it can fit on to the top of the wall. You will need another layer of the bricks on top of the sheet of metal. Bricks need to put length ways along the back of the oven and another piece of the metal needs to go on the top of the bricks and this will create the oven area of the pizza oven.

Another layer of bricks will need to be placed on top of the sheet metal in order to complete the oven. The all you need to do is light the fire let the temperature get to the correct level and then cook your pizza.
